Advisory Board

The Advisory Board for the Master of Science in Management provides valuable input in curricular content and programmatic development, enhances student's professional and career development, and brings industry leaders and management professionals to the classroom. 

  • Shaun Tai, Founder and Executive Director, Project Lead at BRIDGEGOOD.com, Oakland Digital

    Shaun is the Founder and Executive Director of Oakland Digital, which he founded in 2009. He dedicates himself to enhancing technological literacy and opportunity among entrepreneurs and students. Shaun also leads the direction and product strategy for BRIDGEGOOD, a platform that connects early stage creative to professional opportunities.

    Shaun received an M.A. in Architectural & Urban Design (Interdisciplinary Studies, 4.0 GPA) and a B.S. in Advertising (Magna Cum Laude, 3.8 GPA) from San Jose State University. In 2002, he graduated with honors from CSUEB with a B.A. in Digital Graphics. Shaun was selected for one of Cal State East Bay's highest honors, Distinguished Young Alumnus of the 2014-15 academic year.

    In September 2016, Diablo Magazine ranked Shaun #6 in their prestigious 40 Under 40 annual campaign.
     

  • Dorothy Cullen, Director, IT M&A Program Management, Salesforce

    Dorothy Cullen has been in the IT technology field for over 20 years, specializing in program and project management. She has been at Salesforce for the past 11 years, leading many of the company’s most strategic programs and portfolios. She has managed a staff of over 20 employees, consultants and interns, as well large-scale global project teams. Dorothy currently manages the IT M&A integration programs at Salesforce, providing her the opportunity to work across a variety of business functions and be able to travel around the country and internationally.

    On a personal note, Dorothy is an avid runner, mountain biker, swimmer and skier who loves to spend weekends at her cabin in the Sierras with her husband, family, friends, and little rescue poodle dog Murphy.
     

  • Ahmed Mounir Gad, Product Manager, Firebase Test Lab, Google

    Ahmed is a Product Manager at Google working on Firebase Test Lab. He joined Google in 2012 as a Software Engineer working with Google Maps then switched to Product Management and joined the Google Developers group to help mobile developers around the world improve the quality of their apps. Ahmed holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Alexandria University in Egypt, a M.S. in Computer Science from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain and an MBA degree from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
     

  • Leah Jones, Business Development Director, CCL Label

    Leah Jones is a 2002 Alumni of St. Mary’s College in Business Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Print Management from Cal Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1986. For over 25 years, Leah has served the Wine and Spirits industry to build Sales for top label printing companies. She has worked abroad at St. Gallen University, Switzerland as a coach for International MBA students where she also managed a private company Executive MBA program in locations such as Vienna, Austria and Cote Azur, France. Leah currently works in Sonoma, California as a Business Development Director at CCL Label. From 2012 until present, she has help to build sales for CCL Wine, Beer and Spirits division, greenfield label printing division, to $13.6 Million in sales at the close of 2015. Leah has created and presented many technical print classes for customers in the wine industry to help customers and designers maximize their results regarding label printing and design results.
     

  • Joel Bashevkin, Head of Global Pro Bono, Taproot Foundation

    Joel is the founding Head of Global Pro Bono at Taproot Foundation, creating and guiding Taproot’s commitment to support high quality pro bono globally. Simultaneously, he has been the lead developer of the Global Pro Bono Network, a rapidly growing global network of social entrepreneurial organizations. In his previous role as Executive Director, Taproot Bay Area, Joel was responsible for building a strong pro bono marketplace regionally. Joel has led many of Taproot’s efforts to engage business professionals, nonprofits and corporations in high quality, impactful pro bono engagements. During his tenure he has overseen the delivery of 500,000 hours of high quality pro bono capacity building consulting to over 1000 nonprofits, valued at more than $50m. During his three decades in the nonprofit sector, he has led and consulted to organizations undergoing tremendous growth and organizational development. He has also presented to a wide range of audiences on topic including nonprofit leadership, cross sector collaboration, capacity building, volunteerism.
     

  • Jenner Balagot, Compliance Officer, Airbnb

    Jenner completed his undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management from the University of California, Santa Cruz. From there he worked for the US government at the US Embassy in the Manila Philippines. Upon returning to the US, he worked in the banking industry, working for Wells Fargo and Union Bank as a Compliance Officer. He completed his graduate work through the Trans-Global MBA program with St. Mary's College. Shortly after graduating in 2014, he joined Airbnb, helping build their Compliance Program.
     

  • Saileta Prabhu, Ph.D., Director/Senior Scientist, Development Sciences, Genentech

    Saileta Prabhu is Director/Senior Scientist in the Development Sciences department at Genentech. Her group is accountable for providing preclinical and translational pharmacology guidance for Genentech’s protein therapeutics from discovery through approval. She has ~20 years experience in research and development; working in therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. Her research interests include understanding the pharmacology of monoclonal antibodies and the mechanism of transport of protein therapeutics in the brain. Since the last few years, she has been an active member of the University of Maryland’s mentoring program. Saileta received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1997 from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Bombay. Following her post-doc at Rutgers University, she worked at In Vitro Technologies and Sunesis before joining Genentech in 2004.
     

  • Chanel Durley, Senior Specialist, Medial Affairs Operations, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical

    Chanel has worked in the Biomedical Research industry for ten years. She spent the beginning of her career managing clinical trials and department research programs for renowned physicians at CPMC and UCSF Hospitals. She now focuses her career on rare and ultra-rare Pediatric genetic diseases as a Sr. Specialist in Medical Affairs Operations at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical. She supports the company’s Compassionate Use and Investigator Sponsored Trial programs.

    Chanel is passionate about healthcare, environmental and social justice causes, and often spends her free time as a patient advocate lobbying for research and fundraising for patient programs in California and abroad. She holds an Executive MBA from Saint Mary’s College where she served as the VP of Strategy, Programs and Projects of Net Impact. She is proud to continue to serve as a member of the Net Impact Northern California Professional chapter today.
     

  • Brad Nielsen, Senior Manager, Triage Consulting Group

    Brad joined Triage Consulting Group in 2006 and was promoted to Senior Manager in 2014. He’s led Comprehensive Payment Review and Workers’ Compensation Revenue Management projects for some of the largest names in healthcare; including HCA, Tenet, St. Joseph Health, and Adventist Health. Brad has in-depth experience with the hospital revenue cycle and managed care contracting, focusing on hospital reimbursement. He specializes in Workers’ Compensation and has oversight of Triage’s practice area, leading client engagements, service-line development, and growth initiatives. Brad also sits on numerous internal leadership committees and is involved with HFMA, holding membership in the Southern California chapter.

    Brad received his B.A. in Economics from UC San Diego and his MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with family & friends and anything outdoors; especially fly fishing, golf, and scuba diving.
