Current Minimum Wages

New Regulations

  • May of 2016 the Department of Labor issued a final ruling updating the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime regulations. This regulation increased the salary requirement for exempt status employees under the FLSA to a $47,476 annualized minimum threshold. This new requirement was schedule to take effect on December 1, 2016; however, On December 1, 2016, the Department of Justice on behalf of the Department of Labor filed a notice to appeal the preliminary injunction to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. As of current this ruling is actively stayed.

  • Effective January 1, 2017 the California Sate Minimum Wage increased to $10.50/hr; and the minimum salary threshold for employees with exempt status positions was revised to $43,680 annualized.
